About Me

Abdullah Al Maher is a pioneer for sustainable growth in RMG and Textile sector. Mr. Maher has 28 years of experience in all business development, operations management, cross-national management, compliance, environmental sustainability, factory development, green technology, circular economy, global sourcing, import, export, commercial and strategic business planning and development areas.

Mr. Maher has led reputed groups and industries in Bangladesh towards sustainable growth with thousands of employees. Mr. Maher is the former Group CEO and Head of Business of Asrotex Group (2022-23) and Fakir Fashion Limited (2018-22). After years of experience in international corporations such as Youngone Corporation Bangkok (2017-18), H&M (2016-17), TMS International (2007-09), Sears Holdings Global Sourcing ltd (2002-07), Coastline Mode GmbH (2001-02), and Alster Int’l Trading (1995-2000), Mr. Maher is leading the way in achieving sustainable development goals for Bangladesh’s industry, society, and the young generation.

Mr. Maher holds a B.A. (Honors) from the University of Chittagong and an M. A. in English literature & MBA from AIUB. He also holds training from international organizations such as “Quality Control Management”, organized by ILO / UNDP / BGMEA, “manmade Fabric (filament, weaving finishing, coating process)” by Kolon Ind., Dae yu, Tae-Gu, South Korea, “SOP / Supply Chain management” by Miles Fashions Group, Germany and “production management” by Hidaramani Group.

Mr. Maher is now sharing his knowledge through many local and international seminars. Also, he is a faculty member of BRAC and Dhaka University, Institute of Business Administration (IBA), which offers a professional degree of “Post Graduate Diploma in Garment Business” with support from the Ministry of Finance, Government of Bangladesh. Mr. Maher has a remarkable track record over the years in both academia and industry. Now, Mr. Maher draws on his experience in the development sector to fulfill his vision of building a sustainable world.

37th IAF World Fashion Conference organized by the International Apparel Federation (IAF) on 15 November at a hotel in Dhaka. The theme of this year’s conference is sustainable transformation of the fashion sector by bringing together brands, producers, suppliers and consumers. 37th IAF World Fashion Conference organized by IAF has advised working with everyone at the product producer as well as the supplier and consumer level.
Abdullah Al Maher: EU is going to implement climate rules for the fashion industry soon and the policy is finalized. Is the manufacturing countries ready to cope? It was disclosed recently during the 37th IAF Conference in Dhaka, Bangladesh. We need massive preparation to save our # 1 industry.
